Outreach Events from the 24-25 season!

At the beginning of the season, our team faced the challenge of securing enough funds to purchase the necessary parts and materials for our robotics projects. Understanding that financial support is crucial to setting our team up for success, we decided to organize a series of fundraising events. We found ways to not only gain enough funds but also engage with our local community and introduce them to STEM and FTC.

Lemonade Fundraisers

We are hosting a series of Lemonade Fundraisers throughout the summer to raise money for the 25-26 FTC season! Come visit our stand during these dates to not only get a fresh cup of lemonade but also see our robot in action!

Outreach Events

We hosted a fundraiser at a local restaurant and raised ___ and we reached 90+ people in the non-technical community!

To help spread awareness of robotics and STEM in our community we hosted an outreach event at our local library. We brought our robot and gave a live demonstration of its abilities. We interacted with about ____ people throughout the day posing as a great opportunity to engage with community and spread STEM related activities, bringing in new members to the FIRST community.

We hosted a career info session and workshop with Mr. Maurice Velandia—a retired Intel engineer and current robotics advisor! This event inspired students and raised awareness about STEM by providing insight into real-world careers and addressing common questions and concerns.

Advocacy

2025 National Advocacy Conference (NAC): This summer, we attended the NAC, hosted by the Student Association for STEM Advocacy (SASA). We worked with hundreds of robotics students, and met with Congressmember Kevin Kiley, Senator Alex Padilla, and Adam Schiff.

2024 California Advocacy Leadership Conference (CALC): We are the only rookie team that co-hosts the CALC, empowering robotics students from across California to make an impact in our state’s legislature. This year, we taught and learned key advocacy strategies with ~90 robotics students. We advocated to support STEM education. We also authored a blog about CALC that was posted on the California FIRST Robotics website, which reached all FIRST students in California.

California Association for STEM Advocacy (SASACA): Alongside 10 other robotics teams across California, we lead SASACA. This organization plans and hosts the annual California Advocacy Leadership Conference. This allows us to be an ambassador for FIRST and STEM.
